The seed hopper

As a choice, the Centaya Super can be specified with either a 1,600 l or with a 2,000 l seed hopper. Via the steps and loading board, the hopper, which is made from plastic, can be easily accessed from the left hand side of the machine. The hopper is positioned well forward thus keeping the centre of gravity near to the tractor and, thanks to its deep hopper tip and steep hopper walls, the seed is consistently delivered to the metering system. Additionally, this design means that only small residual amounts are left in the hopper.

Comfortable filling

An especially-wide loading board, accessible via folding rear steps, simplifies the filling of the seed drill. The very spacious 2.43 x 0.91 m hopper opening enables a quick and convenient filling procedure, not just from big bags, front end loaders, but also via sacks.

When filling from small sacks, the hopper protection sieves can be used both as a rest for the sacks while being opened as well as being used for additional seed sacks which can be left unopened and transported to the field.

Depending on seed and seed rate, the low level sensor can be height adjusted to suit so that the driver, at the desired residue level, receives a signal via the terminal.


With SmartCenter AMAZONE offers a very simple and clear layout of the most important adjustments. The grain Placement depth and the coulter pressure are independently adjusted in the SmartCenter at the left hand side. Thanks to the universal operating tool the adjustments are quickly and simply done.

The calibration concept

Convenient calibration via the SmartCenter on the left hand side of the drill thanks to the calibration button or, as an option, using the TwinTerminal 3.0. For this, the tray for the calibration is placed directly underneath the metering unit. Subsequently the calibration tray can be removed comfortably via the SmartCenter. Thanks to the intelligent integration of this function, the calibration tray can be removed only when the metering flap has been closed via the remote linkage.

During the calibration procedure, the seed is delivered safely and cleanly into the calibration tray. Also decanting into the supplied folding bucket is done quickly, easily and comfortably. After calibration the calibration tray is simply, with its opening facing downwards, stored in the park position.

With the standard digital balance, the calibrated quantity can be weighed reliably and accurately. Additional storage space in the SmartCenter provides sufficient room for the folding bucket and the digital balance.

(1) ElectricDrive electric metering drive:
The electric metering drive is regulated via any ISOBUS terminal. The calibration, in conjunction with the electric drive, is very comfortable and offers additional functions, such as, for example, pre-metering of the seed in field corners and the increase and decrease of the seed rate on the move. For detecting the forward speed of the drill several different signal sources are potentially available. In addition to the radar sensor or GPS signal, also the speed signal of the tractor can be utilised. Alternatively, the metering unit, and thus the seed rate, can be controlled fully automatically via application maps.

(2) Quick emptying:
The emptying of the seed in the hopper is quickly and simply done via the quick emptying device which is easily accessible and fitted onto the seed hopper.

(3) Emptying of residual amounts:
For emptying any seed residues, a slide is opened and the hopper contents emptied into the large calibration tray.

(4) Easy exchange of the metering cassettes: The cassettes of the seed metering system can easily be exchanged. This allows the precise and gentle metering of all seed types and seed rates with excellent distribution along the row even at high forward speeds.

Operating position and speed signals

The standard equipment level of electric drive offers the possibility to freely choose the signal source for both the speed and also the operating position. In this way, depending on the application, a flexible choice between the different sources is possible.   

Metering cassettes for any type of seed

Special metering cassettes for different application rates precisely and gently deliver the seed up to the distributor head. The three metering cassettes supplied as standard cover up to 95 % of all seeds. Additional cassettes, for instance for maize or special crops, are also available.

The interchangeable metering cassettes are suitable for the following application rates: fine seeds (approx. < 15 kg/ha), medium sized seeds (approx. < 140 kg/ha), normal seeds (approx. > 140 kg/ha).

The segmented distributor head is located behind the seed hopper and directly above the coulters. This arrangement ensures a short conveying time for the seed. The optional electric half-side shut-off helps to reduce any over-sowing on the headland or round the field border and thus saves seed. Via the half-side shut-off, the drill metering can be comfortably controlled via the terminal in wedge shaped fields or on a diagonal headland. Additionally via GPS, the automated switching of half the working width is possible. Either when using the electric half-side shut-off or during a tramline bout, the seed rate is reduced automatically.

Variable tramline control

With the aid of the tramline shut-offs, in total up to six seed rows per side can be switched off. The resulting wider tramlines are well-suited for the use of husbandry tractors with tyre widths up to 1,050 mm at a row spacing of 15 cm and 875 mm at a row spacing of 12.5 cm. In this way, AMAZONE takes into account the demands due to wider and wider husbandry tractor tyres. Whilst shut off when tramlining, the seed rate is automatically reduced.

RoTeC pro coulter: The universally-usable single disc coulter


Goes right up to the limit of practical operation and placement:
The RoTeC pro single disc coulter shows its strengths, especially on cohesive soils, no matter whether early or late in the year. Thanks to the depth guidance directly on the sowing disc, the coulter depth guidance and the reconsolidation via the harrow are completely decoupled from each other. The depth guidance disc and the depth guidance roller achieve in addition an excellent self-cleaning of the coulter. Thanks to these two benefits, a very flexible and precise application in virtually all weather conditions is possible.

The slender design of concave disc, furrow former and cleaning disc ensures a good passage of harvest residues and soil even on narrow row spacings.

Sowing disc


The sowing disc is made from highly wear-resistant Boron steel and features a diameter of 400 mm. Thanks to the robust design, the wear is reduced to a minimum. Due to the large diameter of the sowing disc, the coulter runs very smoothly resulting in an excellent placement accuracy of the coulter system.

Coulter pressure adjustment

The coulter pressure is infinitely-variable with the adjustment being carried out hydraulically from the tractor cab and this serves to maintain an easy matching of the sowing depth and allows the quick adaptation to the prevailing soil conditions. RoTeC pro coulters can be operated with a coulter pressure of up to 55 kg.  Here the coulter pressure is applied 100 % to the sowing disc though.

Furrow former

With the aid of the furrow former, the seed furrow is kept cleared out ensuring an optimum soil contact for the seed. Due to its flexible mounting, the furrow former rids itself of earth and trapped harvest residues. The hard metal coating of the furrow former also ensures a long service life.

Depth guidance

One of the unbeatable benefits of the RoTeC pro single disc coulter is the splitting of the sowing depth and the reconsolidation. In this way, when a stone is passed, the coulter is raised just once. Furthermore, the coulter and roller pressure can be adjusted independently to each other so that, under dry conditions then less coulter pressure and more roller pressure can be applied. Whereas under moist conditions, however, more coulter pressure and less roller pressure is the better solution.

This very even and exactly-controlled coulter guidance of the RoTeC pro single disc coulter is ensured by the Control 10 depth guidance disc with its 10 mm contact area or the Control 25 depth guidance roller with its 25 mm contact area which are mounted directly on the coulter. The plastic discs, fixed on the coulter, keep the placement zone behind the furrow former clear from blockages and ensure an accurate seed placement. The basic adjustment of the sowing depth range is done without tools and in 4 steps directly on the coulter.

Clean and precise seed placement:
When equipped with the highly-efficient TwinTeC coulter, AMAZONE offers a precise and robust double disc coulter for this harrow-mounted seed drill. The new double disc system is in addition to the proven RoTeC pro single disc coulter.

The TwinTeC coulter system ensures a clean seed placement. With a coulter pressure of up to 60 kg/coulter, the coulter travels very smoothly through the soil and precisely places the seed at the optimum depth.

Proven and reliable:
And thanks to the way that the coulters are mounted onto the contour-following coulter rail, central adjustment of the coulter pressure is possible. Since the sowing depth is maintained by means of the depth guidance rollers, the sowing depth of all the coulters can be adjusted centrally from 0 to 6 cm independently of the coulter pressure. From choice, a row spacing of either 12.5 cm or 15 cm is available.

The TwinTeC double disc coulter is completely maintenance-free and thus fulfils highest demands.

Depth guidance

Behind every TwinTeC coulter, a parallel-guided depth guidance roller provides the exact depth control so that the sowing depth of every individual TwinTeC coulter is maintained. Thanks to the large coulter clearance of 195 mm and the connection to the depth guidance roller via the top guided roller carrier, sufficient space remains so that blockage-free operation is maintained. Due to the sowing discs’ low angle of attack of 10°, a superb passage of material is ensured even at high forward speeds and in copious amounts of crop residues. The optionally available scraper system for the depth guidance roller provides a reliable sowing depth – even under moist and sticky conditions.

Inner scrapers are fitted to the double disc coulters to ensure the smooth coulter travel.
As an option, hard-faced scrapers for very cohesive, loamy soils are available.

Coulter pressure adjustment


As all the coulters are suspended in a parallelogram guided frame, a central and stepless adjustment of the coulter pressure is possible. It is possible, for instance, in the area behind the tractor wheels, to increase the coulter pressure by another 6 kg using additional tensioning springs.

As an option, hydraulic coulter pressure adjustment is available allowing the comfortable matching of the coulter pressure from the tractor cab. The hydraulic coulter lift enables the coulters to be raised by up to 145 mm. This coulter lift is of great help when working in field corners.

Depth guidance roller

Two different depth guidance rollers are available from choice: either the Control 50 mm depth guidance roller which has the highest through passage and is ideal for heavy, good carrying-ability soils, whereas the Control 65 mm depth guidance roller offers a higher carrying-ability and  so is better suited to light soil regions.

Exact harrow

The Exact following harrow can be operated in conjunction with both RoTeC pro coulters and with the TwinTeC coulter system. The 10 mm tines on the Exact following harrow give little wear and provide a good seed coverage.

The Exact following harrow serves for both coverage of the open seed furrows and for levelling. It operates, even where there are large amounts of surface straw, blockage free. With its individually pivoting harrow elements, the Exact harrow follows the undulations of the soil perfectly, ensuring an even seed coverage on soils either with or without straw.

When sowing under less than the optimum conditions, e.g. on moist and heavy soils, the Exact following harrow pays off.

The harrow pressure is adjusted mechanically by pre-tensioning the harrow springs. When equipped with the optional hydraulic harrow pressure adjustment, locating pins predetermine the minimum and maximum settings. So, the harrow pressure and the coulter pressure can be simultaneously matched to changing soils via just one tractor spool valve whilst on the move.

Exact S following harrow

The Exact following harrow is also available in the heavier Exact harrow S version. With its 12 mm tine diameter, it offers even more wear area and thus is resistant to the most arduous of operational conditions.

Coulter harrow on the TwinTeC coulter

Each TwinTeC coulter can be equipped as an option with a directly-mounted covering harrow tine. The coulter harrow creates additional loose soil over the furrow. This is particularly of help in heavy soils or in sloping terrain where they can prevent capping as well as the formation of any drainage runs.

Thanks to the sprung harrow brackets, even in undulating ground the depth guidance is carried out without problem. In addition, every harrow can be adjusted as required. To compensate for wear and tear, the harrow can be readjusted in 7 steps down to a length of 150 mm. Also the intensity of the harrow is settable via the repositioning of a pin in three steps (30°, 45° and 60°). Its profile needs less space and less weight and, due to the shorter space needed, sowing can be carried out right into field corners.

The 24 serrated discs, each with a diameter of 410 mm, provide an intensive soil tillage. The CombiDisc can operate at working depths of 3 cm to 8 cm. Thanks to its easy pulling, operational speeds up to 15 km/h are possible. Especially on light soil types, the CombiDisc is an efficient and good alternative to the rotary harrow.

Especially on light to medium soils, the CombiDisc, in combination with a harrow-mounted seed drill, ensures the optimum seedbed.

QuickLink – quickly combined, flexible in operation

The QuickLink quick coupling system allows the easy separation of the CombiDisc with a few hand clamps so that the mounted compact disc harrow can also be used in solo operation for seedbed preparation. Thanks to the QuickLink quick coupling system, the CombiDisc can be combined both with the conventional Cataya harow-mounted seed drill as well as the Centaya pneumatic harrow-mounted seed drill.

Aggressively angled discs for the optimum seedbed preparation


The 2-row disc harrow loosens, crumbles and levels the seedbed prior to the seed placement. The discs of the CombiDisc are aggressively angled, 14° at the front disc row and 12° at the rear disc row. This angle ensures the optimum levelling of the seedbed. In conservation tillage, the straw near the surface is additionally further distributed and mixed. In this case the disc position ensures the smooth transition of the soil-straw mixture from the first to the second disc row and results in a good mixing.

Perfect – for the optimum soil contour following


Thanks to the disc suspension in pairs via elastic rubber sprung elements on the frame, the each double set of discs are able to follow the ground contours individually. In this way, a very consistent, shallow soil tillage can be carried out even with undulations in the soil surface. The suspension of the discs at the same time allows the optimum through passage of large amounts of organic matter.

Safe and absolutely maintenance-free!


The elastic rubber sprung elements suspending the discs not only serve as an optimum matching to the ground contours but also act as an overload safety device for the individual pairs of discs. The oversized rubber buffers are maintenance-free and are characterised by a large spring deflection providing safety even where large stones prevail.

Via the mechanical depth adjustment, the Combi Disc is very fast and easy to adjust to suit the conditions. With the mounted compact disc harrow you only need to operate as deep as necessary – thus saving fuel.

Wide roller programme – Decide for yourself

The most important task of a roller is reconsolidation. Due to the many possible challenges (seed/soil conditions/lifting power of the tractor) a large variety of different rollers is therefore available. So, the right roller can be chosen for any seed and for any soil type. As the harrow-mounted seed drill rests directly on the roller, the total weight is safely carried and thus the optimum performance is ensured.

Large diameter

Big diameter rollers carry better as the weight rests on a larger contact surface area. In addition, rollers with a larger diameter run significantly smoother than rollers with a smaller diameter. AMAZONE rollers are therefore of a larger diameter: 500 mm to 600 mm. These advantages become obvious especially at higher sowing speeds and yet an exact seed placement.

Enclosed roller


In general: on loose and light soils solid rollers carry better than open rollers. In addition, solid rollers tend to block less. Exactly for this reason on the wedge ring and Matrix wedge ring rollers, the rubber rings are fitted to a enclosed tube. When the rings sink into the loose soil, the tube carries the weight across the entire length.

There is no chance of sticking, clogging or blocking up.

Reconsolidation in strips

Due to the reconsolidation in strips, it is possible to create optimum soil conditions which match to the current weather conditions and thus ensures the precondition for quick and even plant growth. This means that reconsolidation in strips is an insurance for timely cultivation. In addition, homogeneous and well reconsolidated strips without a cleat imprint are left. In comparison to rollers with an all-over profile, this is a decisive advantage which. above all, has an effect on the smooth running of the sowing coulters.

1. In severe drought – principle of a water pump: The re-consolidated strips provide soil contact directly in the seed furrow. In this way, capillary water reaches the seedling even in dry weather. The re-consolidation in strips ensures that your soil works as a water pump.

2. In much wetness – principle of drainage: The loose soil absorbs any rain well and stores it. Rain from heavy downpours simply soaks into the unrolled, loose areas and so soil erosion is prevented. In this case, your soil works like a drain. Even at heavy, wet soils there is enough loose soil available between the rows to cover the seed with loose soil.

3. Gaseous exchange – the lungs principle: The loose soil also enables gases to be exchanged, so that the roots can breathe.

Quick-System – Quick tine change system

The tines are simply pushed into the sockets of the tine carrier and secured with a lynch pin. It couldn't be easier or quicker as there are no tine fixing bolts that require retightening. Even converting tine operation from “on-grip” to trailing mode is quick and simple. The tines, which are forged from special hardened steel, are elastic and wear-resistant.

Safe-System: Integrated stone release

The sprung tine fixing system allows the tines to yield when stones are encountered. The tines are firmly clamped in the socket in the centre of the tine carrier. The socket becomes wider towards the outside so that the horizontal part of the tine can twist out of position while remaining sprung. Much of the shock is absorbed when the tip of the tine hits a stone. This tine fixing system ensures the safe operation in stony soils and allows the tines on both the KX and KG to be used in the “on-grip” mode.

The large frame depth, the completely smooth trough bottom without bearing housings and the long tines ensure the maximum clearance between the trough and the tine carriers. Even extremely large clods of soil or volumes of straw can therefore pass through without hindrance. The tines have a long service life, i.e. low wearing metal costs. An excellent seedbed structure is achieved that promotes the optimum field emergence of the young plants.

KX rotary cultivator – the all-rounder

The KX rotary cultivator, in a working width of 3 m, is ideally suited for seedbed preparation on medium to heavy soils.

The benefits of the rotary cultivator:

Flexible and effective

With the KX rotary cultivator, in a 3 m working width and for tractors in the 190 HP class, a very flexible, usable PTO-driven soil tillage implement now exists that can be used as a rotary cultivator or as a rotary harrow.

Many farmers want to use a flexible machine for differing soil and operating conditions. That means, for example, a rotary cultivator with its “on-grip” tines for relatively heavy soils when mulch sowing and a rotary harrow with tines set to trailing mode on lighter, stony soils, so that the stones are pressed back down into the soil.

Previously, the tines have often simply been turned from “trailing” to “on-grip”. The finished result can then often be unsatisfactory, because only tines specially designed for each specific purpose can produce the best work.

Quick change tine system


The proven tine quick-change system enables the KX to be converted without tools and in next to no time into a specialist machine which is suited to the particular ground conditions.

On both the rotary harrow and the rotary cultivator, the tines are simply pushed into sockets on the tine carriers. It couldn’t be easier or quicker. There are no tine fixing bolts that require retightening.

With the rotary cultivator tines, the KX can be switched to the “on-grip” tine position, when heavy soil conditions are encountered. The “on-grip” position has proved itself the most ideal for mulch sowing, as an intensive mix of soil and organic residues is ensured.

Demixing effect of the rotary cultivator


The “on-grip” tine position has proved its effectiveness particularly when mulch sowing as it guarantees a thorough mixing of soil and organic residues.

Tines “on grip” break up the soil from underneath. No smeared layers. Coarse soil particles are thrown further than the light ones.

In this way the fine soil is concentrated in the lower range of the worked zone whereas the coarser soil particles remain on the surface. The seed is therefore placed in the area where the fine soil is collected with the coarser clods staying on the surface to protect the soil from capping, drying and wind and water erosion, and provide protection for young plants. This creates the optimum conditions for good seedling emergence.

Strong rotor carrier:
The tine carrier and shaft are forged in one piece from high grade steel. The shaft diameter is a heavy-duty 60 mm.

The tine carrier shaft is supported by bearings with the optimum bearing spacing. Trough sealing is done with a special cassette seal with an optimum sealing effect and maximum service life. In addition, labyrinth seals prevent the ingress of plant fibres.

Robust trough:
The high-standing 8 mm thick gear case made in a trough-type profile with double skin base and welded-in bearing sleeves is extremely torsion resistant, which enables it to easily withstand the high forces that occur when transporting heavy packer rollers and pack-top mounted seed drills without cumbersome external bracings. Spur gears and bearings are oil-immersed and thus maintenance-free – no grease nipples.

• Tine carrier and shaft are forged from one piece. The shaft diameter is 60 mm: strong as a bear.

Levelling board

The levelling board levels the earth flow between the tines and the roller and presses obstacles downwards. With the universal setting tool, the height of the levelling board can be adjusted. Irrespective of the working depth, the height of the levelling board is maintained as the levelling board is guided parallel to the roller. Where larger obstacles prevail, the integrated overload safety enables the levelling board to give way in an upward direction.

If desired the levelling board can optionally be omitted.

Side plates

The newly-developed side plates are sprung loaded. Thanks to their suspension, the side plates can be adjusted via a slotted hole and, when worn, be simply exchanged. The universal setting tool supplied as standard is all that is necessary for the adjustment.
