A warm welcome awaits at Agritechnica 2019
Amongst over 60 pieces of machinery or systems on the Stand, Agritechnica 2019 next week sees the launch of 30 innovations including the 3 Silver medal, award-winning innovations: AmaSense Weather, AmaSelect Row and the EasyMix App for blended fertilisers.
Take, for example, the new add-ons to the AmaSelect individual nozzle control system: AmaSelect Row gives users the opportunity at the push of a button to choose between blanket spraying across the full width to selecting nozzle bodies equipped with a spot fan jet that targets individual rows. The row spacing can be either 50 cm or 75 cm meaning the system is ideal for both sugar beet, maize and potatoes. Cost savings in active chemical ingredients amounts to between 40 - 65% in potatoes. The flexibility of the system comes from AmaSelect having the ability to spray at either 25 cm or 50 cm nozzle spacing.
AmaSelect Spot is a joint project with DroneWorkers who can analyse photographs taken from a Drone equipped with a specialist RGB camera and produce geo-referenced, weed image maps that enable spot spraying of site-specific part-areas in fields. A safety zone is built into the map to prevent any resistance build-up caused by under-dosing of the area. In heavily infested areas it is always possible to switch back to a conventional blanket application.
The introduction of Bluetooth enabled job computes will allow in the future data transfer from Smartphones to the implement. This will enable, for example, fertiliser setting recommendations from EasyCheck to be directly loaded into the spreader or settings for drill calibrations to up uploaded into a seeding system.
On the machinery front, the Catros range of compact disc harrows has been extended with the introduction of the new CatrosXL in widths from 3 m up to 8 m. Here the 610 mm diameter discs offer the chance to handle more organic matter as well as potentially deeper working depths. Upfront the CatrosXL can be equipped with either a straw harrow or the new knife roller to pre-work crop residues ahead of the cultivator. If we are looking to work deeper still then the new-generation Certos 02 with a new 660 mm diameter twin row disc layout is the tool to use.
In seeding we have the new mechanically-driven Cataya conventional seed drill and the new Avant 02 front tank drill combi. The Avant features the FTender front tank which can be used, not only for seed, but also for fertiliser in combination with such as a rear-mounted Centaya air drill combi. The new Precea precision air seeder also makes its debut at this year's show in 3 m rigid, either mounted of power harrow mounted and in 4.5 m telescopic. For broader farming areas, the new FDC 6000 fertiliser delivery cart can carry 6,000 litres of liquid fertiliser targeted to the row for use in front of the EDX maize drill or Primera and Condor direct drills
For the spreaders, the emphasis is on smart technology with a clever new HeadlandControl system that extends the in-field spread pattern to give more room to switch on and off when going in and out of the headland plus a new SctionControl software that switches from the outside in and vice versa to avoid any under- and over-spreading on the ins and outs. A new App for the iPad gives a low-cost twin terminal solution for displaying section control alongside the AmaTron 4 screen. New EasySet 2 and AmaPad 2 terminals are also on show for the first time.
