iF Design Awards given to four newcomers in the Amazone range
Incredibly at this year’s iF Design Awards, four Amazone machines have been awarded the worldwide renowned Design Label. These awards were made to the Cataya 3000 Super seed drill combination, the UF 2002 mounted sprayer, the Catros XL 3003 compact disc harrow and the ZG-TS 10001 trailed fertiliser spreader. All these machines received their award in the discipline “Product”, category “Farm Machinery”.
These prestigious awards underline the exceptional work of Amazone’s designers. Together with their colleagues from research and development, they are working intensively to develop a high level of functionality and yet, at the same time, ergonomic and aesthetic agricultural machinery for the Amazone customers.
Also this year, the number of candidates for the iF Design Award was enormous. So, the 63-member, independent international expert jury had to assign the coveted quality label from amongst 6,400 applicants from 54 countries. The four Amazone machines convinced the jury by their innovative interaction of technology, operator friendliness and design.
The comments, among other things, in the jury’s statement for the Cataya seed drill combination, are that the machine sets new standards in operator convenience. All the setting points on the central operator station have a language neutral design and are protected from any dirt ingress. Thanks to these clever solutions, any operational errors can be avoided. The innovative design and the high accuracy of seed placement save operating time and seed.
The Catros XL compact disc harrow was awarded, due to its lightweight design and its easy handling, for its fuel saving capability. The design not only characterises the Amazone brand values in a dynamic and vigorous way, but also supports the comfortable handling of the machine.
The UF 2002 was awarded as, not only one of the most up-to-date, but also most compact mounted sprayers. In this machine, highly complex technology, optimised operability and modern design are all combined to sustainably and responsibly improve operator safety on agricultural farms.
The new ZG-TS fertiliser spreader convinced the jury because, thanks to the automatic machine monitoring and control, it reduces the workload for the driver. At the same time, the steering axle of the machine minimises damage to plants and soil. The dynamic hopper design allows a maximum volume and emphasises the distinctive character of the vehicle.
The iF Design Award is one of the most internationally-renowned design awards and which, each year, recognises outstanding, innovative, ergonomic and, of course, aesthetic products from all sectors. The evaluation criteria include, in addition to the design quality, among other things the finish and the choice of material, the degree of innovation and environmental compatibility, the functionality and ergonomics as well as the visualisation of use and its safety.
