This year's IOG Saltex sees the release of the new E+S Hydro salt spreaders
AMAZONE Groundcare will take the opportunity to show off its new hydraulically-driven, speed-related sand and salt spreader, the E+S 01 series at IOG Saltex in the NEC from November 1st – 2nd 2017.
Exhibiting their full range of turfcare and amenity equipment for mowing, seeding and top dressing, AMAZONE Groundcare can be found this year at Saltex on Stand H055 (which is in Hall 8 on the way through from Hall 7), so come along and talk to the specialists in green space maintenance as well as taking a look at the new spreader.
Of course it is the AMAZONE SmartCut mower range that is currently proving to be the cutting system of choice for many professional grass cutting and golf course staff and, at IOG Saltex, the SmartCut system will be represented by both the Profihopper 4WDi and a Groundkeeper GHL/T 1500. Working width and collection hopper capacity will dictate the choice between a self-propelled or tractor mounted model, but the beauty of the SmartCut system is its inherent ability to cut both horizontally and ‘vertically’. When it comes to mowing and collecting, the high-speed, horizontally-running rotor, with its multi-overlapping blade configuration ensures that the grass is shredded into manageable pieces to maximise collection hopper capacity as well helping to speed up the composting time. The phrase cutting ‘vertically’ means that, with the scarifying knives fitted, the SmartCut rotor cuts down into the bottom of the sward removing damp lush growth, removing thatch, aerating the sward bottom and improving surface water infiltration. With a choice of long or short wing blades, scarifying knives and, for the Groundkeeper, also the standard grass blades, it means that the machines can be configured to do a multitude of tasks from light scrub clearance through to fine turf mowing including leaf and litter collection or scarifying – a real all-year round performer. And remember any blade changes required are tool-less and can be switched over in minutes.
The new E+S 01 series salt spreaders are offered in hopper sizes from 300 litres right through to 1,110 litres to suit all tractor sizes and applications. The hydraulically-driven spreading disc can be set up to spread narrow widths of salt and sand or be easily changed over to wider work for applying granular fertiliser at up to 8 metres. The width of spread can be changed from the tractor seat at the press of a button via the in-cab EasySetE+S terminal. The application rate is forward-speed dependent so that, irrespective of how fast the tractor goes, the application rate is always maintained at the desired level. If the rate needs to be altered then this can be carried out again at the press of a button. If the tractor comes to a halt, at a junction for example, then the disc speed drops to prevent any needless agitation and potential powdering of the spreading material. Work lights, a hopper cover and splash guards can all be part of the specification if required.
